Qualified as a Solicitor 1869. Living at East Grinstead when married in 1877, at 1 Thirsk Villa, Plaistow, Bromley, Kent 1878 and 2 Plaistow Rd, Bromley in 1881. Became a partner in Pearless & Sons, East Grinstead. By 1886 and until his death in 1911 he lived at Green Hedges, as did his widow until the house was sold in 1919. Commissioned in the East Grinstead Coy. of the Sussex Rifle Volunteers 1885-7. Will dated 14.4.1909, proved with codicils 6.2.1911.

At her marriage described as age 25 (ie born before 5.9.1852); in 1891 Census age 37 (ie b.c1854), born at Glasgow; at her death age 88 (ie b.c1853). Witnesses at her marriage were John Nisbet her father, Mary Ann Pearless her mother-in-law & James R Pearless her brother-in-law; she was married by her mother's brother Rev.W Graeme Gibson, who had married her parents. By 1915 she was living at Worthing. Will dated 26.10.1932, proved at Llandudno 13.5.1941.

Christopher Gregory, Chaplain of St.Andrew's Home, Folkestone, uncle of the bride, assisted by the Revd.J H Bellhouse MA (24), Curate of Berkeley, Glos., brother-in-law of the bridegroom . .". Will dated 29.3.1954, proved 25.9.1957. In 1891 Census she was a boarder at St Margaret's School, East Grinstead.

In 1891 Census he was living with his parents and his cousin Edward Parnell at East Grinstead; in 1901 Census he was a schoolboy at Repton, Derbyshire. Will dated 14.12.1914, proved 8.2.1916.
