The register recorded that he had died "During the night of 19th October 1879 on a footpath near Hendall, Buxted", the cause being "Accidental death from falling down and becoming suffocated in the mud"; an inquest was held 22.10.1879.
Her son John was baptized at Buxted 24.9.1843; she married Henry Watson at Buxted 29.8.1846.
