In 1881 Census Jane was an unmarried Lady's Maid at Holywell Hill, St Albans. Will dated 26.11.1924 proved Oxford 9.3.1928, probate to two solicitor's clerks; bequests to various charities, including "the Parish Church Ringers Fund in memory of my brother Edgar".

In 1891 Census he was living at Woodbine Cottage, Nunhead Crescent, Camberwell with his wife; in 1901 they were still at Camberwell. Will dated 16.12.1898 proved at London 1.2.1904, probate to Jane Peerless, widow, sole executrix & beneficiary; failing her, John Edgar Stillman of Newbury, Berks., parish clerk, was named as alternate executor & beneficiary.
